Dear Students and Teachers,
Greetings from your friends at Journey North! Thank you for taking care of the monarch butterflies this winter. We're glad you'll be tracking their migration north with us this spring.

We just received news that the very first monarchs have just crossed the border into the U.S. and are arriving in Texas. The milkweed plant, which the female monarchs need for laying eggs, only emerged from the ground two weeks ago. You can see how closely the monarchs time their migration to the life cycle of this important plant.
