Dear Students and Teachers,
Greetings from your friends at Journey North! Thank you for taking care of the monarch butterflies this winter. We're glad you'll be tracking their migration north with us this spring.

The monarchs are on the move! Thousands of people in the United States and Canada are watching and waiting for the butterflies to arrive.

According to their reports this is what we know:

The first butterflies arrived at least two weeks early this spring. They were already in Arkansas on March 10th! Then the weather turned cold and the migration stalled for two full weeks. On the final days of March, warm weather returned and strong south winds sent the butterflies northward quickly. Right now, the first monarchs are already entering Kansas.
