Dear Students and Teachers,
Greetings from your friends at Journey North! Thank you for taking care of the monarch butterflies this winter. We're glad you'll be tracking their migration north with us this spring.

The monarchs are on the move! The migration made a clear push into northern Texas last week, and has now crossed the border into Arkansas. Reports from observers plot the migration as far as 33 North and 91 West. The milkweed plant, which the female monarchs need for laying eggs, only emerged from the ground two weeks ago. You can see how closely the monarchs time their migration to the life cycle of this important plant.
