Dear Students,
No butterflies were observed from September 26th to October 2nd. I continue visiting Las Cebados, Los Cedros, La Canada and El Cerrito, the places monarchs are expected to arrive first.

I asked different people from the region and they say it's been raining too much for the butterflies to approach the area, but they believe it won't be long.

After Isidore, a terrible hurricane, Lilly, just hit the southern part of our country. The states of Campecha and Yucatan were extremely endangered. And in addition Lilly, another hurricane of minor intensity is expected to be approaching those same states. Thus, the weather in the central part of our country certainly won't improve within the rest of the week--least of all in Angangueo, which is considered a particularly rainy location.

We will continue our weekly monitoring and let you know when the migration arrives.

Respectfully yours,
German Medina and Estella Romero
