Monarchs Do Not Go to Mexico The colored dots show where and when the first people saw their first monarchs that spring. The red triangles show where people saw monarchs during the winter that year (in January or February). As the map
show, all monarchs do not migrate to Mexico for the winter. Some spend
the winter along the Gulf Coast, the Atlantic Coast and the Pacific Coast
of California.
