Here's How We Looked at the Problem

We drew a red outline around the monarch colony. We counted 391 trees inside.

Would you have drawn the borders around the monarch colony differently? As you can see, it's VERY hard to determine the borders exactly. You have to make many subjective (personal) decisions. You have to decide which trees to include or exclude. You might not agree to include the same trees we did in the outline. (Click image for a larger view.)
