Sure,
he might have been hungry and swallowed the worm for his own
lunch, but he could have done it for the kids!
Baby
robins don't have mouths big enough to eat a whole worm. So parents
eat foods themselves and then regurgitate (throw up)
small pieces for the babies.

robins love earthworms and larvae, but adults also like fruits
and other tiny animals like beetles and spiders.
Next time a robin is poking around your lawn, look carefully at
what it picks up in its beak!
