Robin on a Mission!

What we observed:

  • This robin has something like straw or grasses in its beak.
  • Flowers are blooming.
  • The branches look bare and the grass is short.

What we assume:

  • The robin is gathering nesting materials.
  • It must be spring.
  • No eggs have been laid yet.

What we wonder:

  • Is this a male or female?

If it had mud in its beak, it would probably be a female. Both gather nesting materials, but mom builds the nest.

If we saw bold stripes on its throat, we would assume it's a male.
