Male or Female Robin?
The male robin is brighter in color than the female. His white eye ring, bright beak color, black head, rusty red breast, and black-and-white streaked throat markings show he's a male. The female's pale orange breast feathers and gray upperparts look washed out and faded compared to the male's darker, richer colors. A female robin must be well camouflaged in order be safe from predators as she incubates her eggs. |
