Drought Map
- Drought is a word that means prolonged period when there is a lack of rain. Find where there is Extreme to Exceptional drought in the US in September.
- Find your home state on the drought map. Are you having a drought? Where is the nearest drought?
- How might drought affect plants in the fall season?
Temperature Map
- What is the warmest temperature predicted? What color is it?
- What is the coldest temperature predicted? What color is it?
- Compare the temperature and the drought map. What do you notice?
- Use the backside of this handout to list 3 questions about the maps to ask your partner or classmate.
