A Tulip Test Garden in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada
(44.45 N, -64.38 W)

Hi from Lunenburg! We're happy to have our class (or school) be a Mystery Garden. Although my e-mail comes to you from Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, our school is actually in Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage site (about 10 kms away).

We are Primary students 5 years old working with the grade 5 students. Our older students manage small school gardens. Last year we grew potatoes, chives, parsley and tomatoes along with our tulips. Our biggest concern was the hungry deer! Our tulips were planted on a slope (we don't have much level ground!) and they emerged first on the top of the slope where the snow had melted. Even the youngest students figured that one out!

Find us on the map and watch to see when our tulips emerge. When do you think they will?
