The
first tulip is blooming this morning--in the snow, as usual. A
late snow storm began this morning, and just like last year, the
tulips are opening up.

Why is one tulip still bright red? I wonder why the green
energy is going back into the bulb? I wonder if all the birds
have migrated back north? Why is the pistil still there?

Late
snow finally melted and tulips were up about 4 inches in our garden.
We were thrilled to see the tulips up when the snow melted. As
tulips have a natural antifreeze, they look just fine! Hope you
can make them out in the photo.

Hooray! Hooray! Our beautiful tulips have finally bloomed! We
are so excited! So many people have been watching them as well.
We've been learning a bit about Georgia O'Keeffe ... we'll have
lots of inspiration for our "larger-than-life" pastel
drawings now!

Our tulips are in full bloom and have been enjoyed by all for
the past week. The warm weather brought out the bloom more than
a week earlier than last year.
