Snow on the Test Garden

Study the weather map below from February 19, 2012. Use a marker to outline the areas where snow was forecast.

1. Compare the areas circled on both maps. What do you notice about the pattern of snowfall and the location of emerging tulip gardens?

 

 

2. Many emerged gardens were not in the path of the storms last week. What can you predict about the way these gardens might grow?

 

 

3. Do you think the emerging tulips will be permanently damaged by the snowfall (answer after reading this week's exploration)? Explain.
