Selected Reports from the Test Garden

Waiting, Watching, Recording...Celebrating!

  • 03/20/12 Baltimore, Maryland (Microclimate)
These are the red emperors on the west side of our building. The heat from the foundation and building have caused them to bloom earlier than the garden on the east side.

  • 03/21/12 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Our tulips are booming, much earlier than we predicted! So beautiful!

  • 03/19/12 Wake Forest, North Carolina
We are super excited and think it is really cool that the official first day of Spring is tomorrow and that our tulips bloomed so close to that day. WE LOVE THIS PROJECT!!

  • 03/15/12 Pennsville, New Jersey
The students are really excited to see all the new tulips blooming! They are measuring and watching more emerge. Great science and social studies lesson.

  • 03/15/12 Brattleboro, Vermont
Snow just melted in the last week, now our tulips are emerging.
  • 03/15/12 Jamestown, North Dakota
We have had unseasonably warm temperatures and we now have our tulips emerging. This is about 3 weeks early.

  • 03/16/12 Lewistown, Montana
Tulips emerged, then Sunday and Monday central Montana got a blizzard! Today (03/20) the ground has a foot of heavy wet snow covering the ground and it looks like winter returned.

  • 03/15/12 Bay Village, Ohio
Almost all of our 50 tulips have emerged. We even planted one upside down and it came up.
