Waiting, Watching, Recording...Celebrating!

    When we came back to school on April 9, almost all of them had bloomed! What a welcome surprise! Now we are enjoying observing how the tulips change during the day. Our new questions: How do tulips change in response to sunlight? How will the tulips be affected if we add more earthworms to the soil?

    It is spring and the tulips have bloomed.
    1. The daylight is getting longer.
    2. The tulip stems are growing longer and taller.
    3. The tulips are pretty and red.
    4. The petals are really shiny.
    5. There are six petals on each one.
    6. The petals are really smooth.
    7. The leaves are getting bigger.

    Our tulips have blossomed and are withstanding the cold and snowy weather we have had today.

    We got back from spring break today and our second grade class observed the tulips had emerged. They are mostly green with a little purple and pink and red.
