In Newport News, Virginia students noticed that after a warm weekend their tulips began to emerge. Others have reported that tulips emerged under the melted snow. What makes the test garden emerge?
"The Children's Learning Garden Nature class of 6-8 year old students reported their garden emerged today. The bed was empty on Friday and a warm weekend coaxed them out by this morning despite our woodchuck forecasting 6 more weeks of winter back on February 2nd. Our learning garden began with Journey North tulips planted in Fall 1998." Newport News, Virginia 02/24/14
