Tree Swallows Like New Nest Boxes!

Chattanooga,Tennessee has some lucky birds, thanks to Harold Sharp and his friend. They started The Riverwalk Bird Club. The club put up and maintains 109 nest boxes. Last week they replaced some boxes with a new twin box design. Tree Swallows were checking out the new boxes within minutes! Last year, Tree Swallows fledged 417 chicks from the Riverwalk Bird Club's boxes — along with 349 Eastern Bluebirds, 29 Carolina Chickadees, and 17 Tufted Titmice. I banded quite a few of those swallow chicks, so I will be interested in seeing if any of them come back here to breed!"
