NEXRAD and Fallouts
This NEXRAD image is the same type of radar image you might see on your local news. When you watch your local weather, the radar is detecting raindrops, and the color corresponds to the density of raindrops. Lower densities are colored blue and green, whereas heavier rain is coded as yellows and reds. The NEXRAD system is also sensitive enough to pick up flocks of migrating birds.
- The straight green line indicates the rain along the front.
- The blue mass off the coast are migrants starting to coming on shore.
- Where the two meet, you will get a fallout!
