Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Other gnatcatchers don't migrate, but the Blue-gray heads south in winter. This tiny bird has a soft, high-frequency song, but don't let that fool you. It readily goes after predators such as the Cooper's Hawk and Northern Pygmy-Owl! Its tiny nest of lichens and spider silk expands as four to six nestlings grow.
