Yellow-throated Warbler
A birder in North Carolina tallied 83 Yellow-throated Warblers. It's easy to see why birding pioneer Roger Tory Peterson described these tiny, active birds and other woodland warblers as the "spritely butterflies of the bird world." This male is in his full summer colors; females, immatures, and non-breeding males wear a washed-out version of these colors.
