Rose-breasted grosbeak
This week, at Dr. Aborn's study site in Tennessee, there were lots of Rose-breasted grosbeaks, and they also arrived in New York and Minnesota. These welcome migrants can be seen in the forest edges, woodlands, and backyards. Their journeys north start in Central or South America. Listen to their song. Do you think it sounds like a robin with a beautifully trained voice? Males join in to help incubate the eggs, and in fact these birds often sing while on the nest!
