The return of the robin is perhaps the most familiar sign of spring in North America's northern regions. Over the next few months, we hope you'll help us track robins from their wintering grounds "down south" all the way to the Arctic!
Where do robins spend the winter, anyway? Let's find out! Before their spring migration begins, we'd like to know if you have robins in your town. Here's how you can help with Journey North's Annual Winter Robin Round-Up:
Winter Robin Round-Up: February 6 - February 15, 1996
1. Go outside and look for robins. Ask your neighbors if they have sighted robins. Call your friends and relatives in other parts of North America. Ask everybody you know to help you look for robins!
2. Send your field observations to Journey North. Simply select the button below labeled,"Report Field Observations" and fill out the Field Data Report Form.
3. Remember, you have until February 15th, 1996 to collect your sightings!
4. We'll collect all sightings and post a summary for you on February 20th. We'll also give you last winter's Winter Robin Round-Up data, so you can compare the results. It's been a rough winter in most parts of North America this year. Do you think the robins have gone further south this year?
Thank you for your help!!
The Next Robin Migration Update Will be Posted on February 13, 1996.
