Name the Eagle Contest: Winner Announced

Name the Eagle Contest: Winner Announced!

From: Mrs. Berger's Class Roslyn, New York

Thank you to all the classes who submitted such wonderfully creative and imaginative names for our eagle. We hope you enjoy reading all the submissions and the reasons each had for selecting that particular name. They're posted below. We asked our principal to select the winning name out of a hat, and the name he selected is:

TALON TED

Submitted by Terry Mills and Jamie Kay, a homeschooler, from British Columbia, Canada.

They chose the name because an eagle has talons and Ted is a name and together it expresses what you have to have to survive these days if you're an eagle- ("talented")

Congratulations to Talon Ted for being the recipient of this wonderful name and to Terry Mills and Jamie Kay for their winning entry. Our eagle will forever be known as TALON TED as it soars the skies on its journey north.

We heard from 35 schools in all! Here are their wonderful entries
