Winter Robin Round Up

WINTER ROBIN ROUND-UP

We are students at Valders Middle School, in Wisconsin, and we are involved in Journey North.

On February 4 & 5, we are checking the wooded areas around our homes to see if any Robins wintered over. If they have a food supply of berries they can winter over. We are asking if you would do the same.

If you found any Robins, please send us a message at:

ddill@earth.execpc.com

The deadline for your reply is February 24.

Thank you again, Aaron, Carla, Cathryn, Curt, Holly, Mike & Nick ddill@earth.execpc.com

COMING NEXT WEEK:

Spring Robin Migration Study Begins:

This will be a fascinating year to collect report of robins! Many people are seeing them this winter in regions much further north than usual. Next week we'll open our mailbox for observations of FIRST robins. Before we start, let's help these Wisconsin students and make a map that shows the distribution of robins on the first weekend in February, 1995.

CHALLENGE QUESTION: Who is Rachel Carson and what did she notice about robins?

Find out, then send your reply to: jnorth@informns.k12.mn.us
