Gray Whale Migration Update, 5/10/95

Gray Whale Migration Update, May 10, 1995

This is Anne Smrcina at Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctary.

I have just one report from Robert Steelquist from our National Marine Sanctuary in the State of Washington (Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary) April 25 --

"Most of the migratory California gray whales have passed in the last few weeks; stragglers are still occasionally seen. In addition, every year some of the whales stay around, feeding in the Strait of Juan de Fuca and in protected waters of Puget Sound. About a week ago, two young grays were seen near Bremerton, Washington, moving through some of the narrow passages in Puget Sound."
