The most recent monarch butterfly sightings are in!

You may want to mark the dates and locations on a large wall map using small, 1/2" round self-adhesive labels. Check your local school supply store for miniature monarch butterfly stickers--we found some!

Field Notes From Dr. Calvert, Monarch Butterfly Specialist: I was on a prairie last weekend south of Austin, Texas and came across a patch of fresh milkweed. We sighted between 13 and 15 monarchs and over 40 eggs. We also saw proof that the next generation of butterflies has hatched an is in caterpillar form. Adults should continue to lay eggs for the next 2 weeks or so.
