Release of "ONTARIO INSECTS"

It's out! Volume 2, Number 1 of "ONTARIO INSECTS"! Published by the Toronto
Entomologists' Association, this newsjournal deals with a wide range of topics
and issues related to insects in Ontario. Articles in the most recent issue
include:

- upcoming programs
- results of various insect and butterfly counts from across the province
- article on tiger beetles in Ontario
- article on gorgone checkerspot rediscovered in Ontario
- checklist of Odonata of Ontario
- field trip reports
- news in brief
- monarch (butterfly) notes
- book reviews and a list of recent articles worth reading
- insect word search

Subscription rates are: $20.00 individual, $10.00 student, and $25.00 family,
and includes membership in the Toronto Entomologists' Association.

T.E.A. meetings are now held in Metro Hall, Room 309 - but this is subject to
change. Please call Alan Hanks at (905) 727-6993 or Paul McGaw at (416)
261-6272 to confirm the meeting place - particularly for the November meeting.
A underground walkway connects the St. Andrew's subway station to Metro Hall.

Sept. 28, 3 pm - Members Meeting - T.E.A. members show slides and give
presentations about their most recent projects

Oct. 26, 1 pm - Sexual Conflict in Insects, presented by Locke Rowe,
Department of Zoology, University of Toronto

Nov. 23 - Insects of Lambton County, Ontario, presented by Jeff Skevington
