visitors are here , they might visit this clock powered by steam.

"One of the famous landmarks of our village,
a gusuku, is in ruins with two arched gates . Some say the landmark
is the highest point on the west side of our village, and that it
was once used as a gun
station and radar station. Other gusuku like this are found on this
island, but some say ours is unique because it is built on red earth,
instead of on limestone. A famous battle in World War II began at
a river in our village."

"Our
station is named after a scientist who lived in the 1600-1700's
and discovered a comet, now also named after him, which comes
back to visit about every 3/4 century or so.

"Our
town has the same name as our island, which is the largest of
the seven islands in our chain ...and the chain of islands has
the same name as our island and our city. We are a favorite destination
for tourists, but fairly soon our community will say goodbye to
a large group of Americans based here since the early 1970's,
who have supported the subs and ships for several years."

"This monument is a few miles away from our
city, and
is related to latitude just as the Royal Observatory in Greenwich
is related to longitude.
At
our altitude, we are considered among the highest capital cities
in the world. "

"One
of our city's residents famously brought home an Olympic medal.
Before that uplifting achievement, he was one our city's many
fisherman, which is not suprising since we regard our peninsular
city as the capital of the country for the food that fisherman
catch."
