We can't wait to meet you and say hi, and have you learn more about us, and visit our country.

Greetings from the Equator!

We are students at the International Schools of Riau, and our teacher is Mr. John Anderson. (Remember us. . .? You actually met some of us earlier in the "Rappin' Up" Longitude video.)

As you can see from our latitude of 0.5333 N, we are located very, very close to the equator. (But you already knew that from our photoperiod, which didn't change very much at all).

Our schools are sometimes called "oil company schools", because they are mainly schools for the children of people who are working here in the Riau province for various oil companies.

Why do we say our "schools"? It's because we actually have two school campuses in Riau province. One campus, our campus, is located in the town of Rumbai which is actually right on the edge of Pekanbaru, the capital city of Riau province in Indonesia. The other campus is located in Duri, a town that's a bit further north and west.

To help you "meet" us and get familiar with our school and what life is like here , we have written our Introduction and posted it on our blog so you can learn more about such things as:

-Our Favorite Books
-Culture and Language of Indonesia
-Local Sports
-Local Food and Recipe
-Our School Mascot
-YouTube videos (You won't believe what this elephant eats!)

We invite you to visit our Blog!

We have really enjoyed being one of the secret Mystery Classes, and being able to share some information about our school and location on the Island of Sumatra. If you'd like to contact us, you can e-mail our teacher Mr. Anderson.
