Dr. Nature McGinn at Palmer Station
I am Dr. Nature McGinn, a AAAS Science Policy Fellow working at the Polar Programs office at the National Science Foundation.  Part of my assignment with the office is to visit all three of the United States year-round Antarctic stations (McMurdo, Amundsen-Scott/ South Pole, and Palmer) in order to learn more about the logistics of supporting science in Antarctica and to examine international collaborations.

It has been a great privilege to travel to these stations and discover the beauty and complexity of life and science in the "coldest, highest, driest, windiest, and least-populated" continent. In particular, I hope you will enjoy getting to know the scientists and support staff at Palmer Station, and will also appreciate the work they do on the Antarctic Peninsula. So, let’s keep going on the tour of life at Palmer Station!
