| Map of U.S. Stations on Antarctica In addition to Palmer Station, the U.S. Antarctic Program operates two other year-round stations including South Pole Station and McMurdo Station, which you can see on this map. Palmer Station is located along the Antarctic Peninsula, which is considered the northernmost section of Antarctica. In fact, Palmer Station is actually located "outside the Circle". That means Palmer Station is north of the Antarctic Circle, which circles the Earth at approximately 66.50 S latitude. But, make no mistake -- Palmer is part of Antarctica! |
