Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/10/2001

Number: 1

This years monarch migration is in full swing here. Monarchs are very abundant. We were able to tag many this morning at roosting sites and they are very hard to avoid along highways and gravel roads. They seem to like the moisture on the damp gravel roads. We also tagged twenty five that had stopped to nectar on Golden Rod plants this past Saturday as hundreds flutterd high overhead - traveling due SW with the winds from a cold front that was moving across the state.
