Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Number: 1

Way up North there is still activity! The lastest release happened today. 4 males and 3 females were released from our school grounds. They had been collected, raised and released on site. The weather was poor yesterday, but today's weather was great for the energetic butterfies to absorb the sun and fly away. Tomorrow's weather is encouraging as well. We still have 4 to emerge. One more is out(a male) and ready to go tomorrow. There have been three fatalities this year. One through poor handling, the other two ? This is the largest mortality we have ever had. Wish I had tags to maybe see where they end up!
Great article on our work featured in the latest addition of the Herald Review Newspaper. Nicely done and informative.
