Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/08/2001

Number: 1

I had over 100 Monarchs in my prairie on the weekend of the 8th and 9th of September. The number has dropped over the last two weeks. The large group was very friendly and wanted to be part of my work. They would follow me into the woods. I was planting several understory trees that weekend. I still have lots of black eyed Susan's, goldenrod and aster in bloom. Numbers
of Monarchs are running about 20 right now. For your info: my prairie is around 2.5 acres. I have several rocks for sunning and good mud spots for
puddling.
