Late September monsoons have moved in. Heavy gray clouds stalk the landscape today. Occasional sunlite tickles thru forcing the clouds to close ranks to keep it away. Timid trees take advantage of the dark landscape to try on their new autumn fashions. Here & there shimmers of new color dance on stern winds. Lake Michigan has waves from 7' to 9' pounding in shaking their shaggy wild horse crests into flying spindrift! Bad day to ride the Badger, the last of her kind carferry still crossing this big expanse of water almost 90 miles wide between Ludington, MI & Manitowauk, WI! Even Badg's 410'tough 60 year old frame gets bounced around! Autumn's a time of gales on the Great Lakes - harking back to the poor old Griffin who sailed into mists of legend in the late 1600's. Temps near 40 make indoors inviting!
