I observed 14 monarchs in about 10 minutes, while driving (35mph) along
remote grassland near Rhome, Texas 25 miles N-NW of Fort Worth, TX. It was
around noon Sept 27th. 80 degree F,clear sky, Wind was northerly at approx
3-5 knots, they were headed south and southwest travelling individually 10-20 feet over the ground. Saw an additional 10 monarchs in the next 30 minutes
while headed toward Ft Worth area. Driving into Louisisana today, on I-20, saw only one or two.
