Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/04/2001

Number: 1

Our third grade class was outside gathering minibeasts to observe over a period of few days and we noticed that there were two monarch chrysalis on the foundation of the building. One of them had opened and the other had not. When we went out again in two days we got to see one of them fly away. It went right up to the top of the evergreens and headed in a southerly direction. This was a great experience because we just sent our symbolic monarchs yesterday!
