On 10/5 we were on a field trip to the Patuxant Wildlife Center and saw three monarchs. When we returned to our school which is 3 miles away we saw 3 more butterflies. On Monday we awoke to a heavy frost and had to wear our winter coats to school. A cold front came through Sunday night. We think that will be the last monarchs we see this year because of the cold and our photoperiod is now at 11 hours and 29 minutes.
