Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/09/2001

Number: 1

On the top of Schoodic head, a small hillock on Schoodic Penninsula that faces south over open ocean, I saw one monarch butterfly. It was slow moving but in good shape.
Why is it still here? Do some not migrate? We had a hard frost the night before. How did it stay warm?
