Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/10/2001

Number: 1

Greetings tulip people! I have planted eight journey north tulips in a new garden at my home in rural Madoc Ontario. The weather today is cool and the sky is gray. We have had a lot of rain and the ground is soft and squishy. There was a heavy frost two days ago. The maple leaves are just beginning to fall from the trees. I will put chicken wire and leaves on top of my garden to help keep the squirrels away from the bulbs. I am also going to experiment this year by putting some hair from the hairdresser around the edge of the garden- maybe that will keep the squirrels away! When spring comes, I will let you know if my experiment was a success.
