Spent the day at Mohonk Mountain House today outside New Paltz on the escarpment. At the highest point we saw 3 Monarchs (and 3 raptors) heading south. Back down at the gardens of the hotel we saw about a dozen Monarchs feeding on buddlia and other flowers that were still blooming inspite of the frost a few nights ago. The gardens really help the Monarchs on their journey!
