Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/06/2001

Number: 1

Saturday--drove 12 miles (15 minutes), counted 63 monarchs.

Sunday--drove 25 miles (round trip, about 20 min each way), counted 103 monarchs.

All were headed in a very general south and westerly direction--after a fashion. Haven't seen many since, maybe 1 a day as I'm out picking up the boys from school. Saw one around 8am this morning--trying its hardest to gain some altitude on a very soggy morning. This has been an incredibly exciting watch.(Writing 10/12/01)
