Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/14/2001

Number: 1

I saw six monarch butterflies. They were in my front yard going south. They were very interesting to watch because the wind was picking up. Note: Located where we are on Lake Ontario, we rarely see large migration groups so for us 6 is a big number! It has been fairly warm, but today it is only 6 degrees Celsius and rain is expected so perhaps we have seen the last of the monarchs for this year.
