We planted more than 80 red emporer tulip bulbs on a glorious autumn afternoon in Falmouth, Maine. The temperature was 70 degrees and with the glorious maples turning shades of red and yellow we dreamed of a snowy winter and then the long awaited spring. Spring comes late to Maine and waiting for our bulbs to bloom and watching spring creep northward will be lots of fun.
