Signs of Fall

Date: 10/19/2001

Number: 1

A Flock of Pine Siskins(~20) arrived in the yard on Oct 18th and continued to feed at the nyjer feeders today, with the purple and gold finches. Robins are eating the viburnum berries and crabapples and a gray cat bird was eating poke berries. We have had Red Breasted Nuthatches already this fall. Juncos and white throated sparrows arrived in September(early dates). Does this mean it's going to be a early winter?
