We planted our tulip garden today at Perkins Elementary School in Burlington, Iowa. We planted 36 Red Emperor tulip bulbs in our garden, one for each first grader in our school. We want to see what our tulips will look like before spring so we put 4 bulbs in the freezer to plant in our classroom. We wonder how long it will be before they come up inside?

We found a lot of earth worms in the ground where we planted our garden. It will be fun to see the tulips emerge in the spring and bloom. It will also be a special reminder of the pledge we made to be drug free this week during Red Ribbon Week.
