Driving southeast into Laurel around noon today, sightings regularly every 30 to 60 seconds. Wind was out of the southeast and gusting slightly from the southwest, yet, the Monarchs were still heading into the wind, westsouthwest. Good going. Beautiful hot day, and everyone seemed intent on travel. On to the school grounds and more sightings. Again, all moving southwesterly. The children are getting really good a telling the difference between Monarchs and Gulf Frits and others. Lots of excitement all afternoon as everyone continued to spot them until around 3:00 p.m.
