Yesterday when I was leaving my local pet store I heard what I couldn't believe was a robin. I looked to my right and there, sitting in the top of a Washington Hawthorne tree was a very fat, sassy robin plucking last season's fruit off the tree. I reminded him/her that this was January in Nebraska and it probably wasn't a very smart move on his/her part to come this far north this early in the season! Of course, a snowstorm is due in today and tomorrow to make its life miserable so I hope it finds a nice place to hide!
