We have had an adult male Rufous Hummingbird visiting the backyard all winter. Several have been regular visitors to gardens up and down the coast and inland a couple of hundred miles. He has been a regular visitor to the salvia and Mexican honeysuckle that continues to bloom. It was suggested that we keep a few feeders up throughout the winter for the hummers that do not or will not migrate farther south.
