The first signs of spring in our area are the skunks coming out of hibernation. A sure bet that spring is on the way is to pass by skunk roadkill. I passed 3 on the way to school today. Also, the sap is running on the forsythia and lilac bushes...you see sticks greening up everywhere. This is extremely early for northern Connecticut. It makes you wonder whether this is a tease.
